Echo Valley

We went to Echo Valley pumpkin patch with the kids ministry at our church. We had so much FUN!
At Echo Valley they have a niblet train, a petting zoo, and, of course, a pumpkin patch, a corn maze and a hay bale maze, a corn box, and a lot of other fun stuff. I love Echo Valley!

This is Caleb, Mattie, Jacob, Hannah, Megan, and me (Emily) on the hayride about to get our pumpkins. I got a very big pumpkin and it was heavy. I carved my pumpkin when I got home.
This is my mom and dad on the hayride.
This is me and my pumpkin.
This is caleb and his pumpkin.
And last, but not least, Hannah and her pumpkin.

Our New Co-op

We started a new co-op, a co-op is a group of homeschoolers that come together to take some classes once a week. I am having a lot of fun!

I am taking art, legos, math games, hands on science and P.E. All of my teachers: my mom is the art teacher, Mrs. Robin is the lego teacher, Mrs. Christie is the math games teacher, Mrs. Lisa is the hands on science teacher. I am loving co-op and all the classes! My favorite classes so far are lego, art and hands on science. I am excited about the rest of the year!

Sewing Class

We were able to take a sewing class this week with 5 other girls. Our teacher was Mrs. Julie and she is so nice. Her home is beautiful, too. She is very good at sewing and we learned a lot. On the first day we learned a lot about the sewing machine. We also started making our purses. The second day we finished our purses and started our skirts. The third day we finished our skirts.

Learning about the sewing machine was pretty cool. We learned how to thread the machine and use it.
At the sewing class I had fun talking to my friends, Libby, Jayden, Lydia, Patti Ann and Olivia! The purse is a reversible purse so you could have two different fabrics to choose from. The skirt was so fun to make, I made a matching purse and a doll skirt with scrap fabric.

I enjoyed sewing class a lot! I hope I can continue sewing a lot at home on my own now.

The Beach (from Hannah)

Our family went to Pensacola Beach for vacation. We had so much fun! We went with our cousins, we played in the water, made sandcastles, sand beds, buried each other, swam at the pool and had a good time! the main reason we went is for my great grandmothers funeral.

I found a sand dollar while we where there. It is really
rare to find one whole.

one day there where lots of jelly fish on shore

A few of our cousins buried me in the sand

My favorite part was being able to go and play with my cousins.

Wetlands Water Park

We went to Wetlands Water Park and it was so fun! There are three really big water slides, two small water slides, a huge pool and a splash pad. Yesterday my family and me went with our cousins. We all had a blast! We were there all day. We got sun burnt pretty bad.

Layers of the Ocean Project

Last year we studied about sea creatures so I made a project about what I learned. I  made it with the three layers of the ocean: Sunlight zone, Twilight zone and Midnight zone. Each zone has some sea creatures in it.

SUNLIGHT ZONE

  • dolphins
  • sharks
  • whales
  • jellyfish
  • crabs
  • seahorses

TWILIGHT ZONE

  • lantern fish
  • oysters
  • oarfish
  • viper fish
  • jelly fish
  • gulper eel

MIDNIGHT ZONE

  • angler fish
  • blob fish
  • dragon fish
  • squid gulper
  • brittle star
  • cuttle fish

Here's how I made it. I got a cardboard box and cut two squares on each side of the box. I taped origami sea creatures on each zone. I painted each zone with blue paint. I covered each hole with saran wrap and wrote the name of each zone on a piece of paper and taped it on.

This was a fun project to do!

Last week we had a award celebration and everyone got an award.

These are the awards that I received:

3. I got a Excellence award for finishing the second book.
4. I got a excellence pin.
5. I got a certificate for participation.

It was really fun. After the awards we had punch and cupcakes!
